Nashville-based Baste Records is releasing their first hip-hop track with Hi-Rez the Rapper.
"Triggered" is scheduled for release on Nov. 10. The new song highlights the Second Amendment right to bear arms in America in the context of a country appearing to be plagued by school shootings. "Triggered" also touches on the recent attack in Israel by Islamic militant group Hamas earlier this month.
"Baste Records, a proudly conservative music label dedicated to preserving the fundamental rights of self-defense, is thrilled to announce it has entered into a multi-year partnership with Hi-Rez the Rapper," Baste Records wrote in a press release. "Hi-Rez, known for his thought-provoking lyrics and dedication to advocating for individual liberties, has poured his heart and soul into this song. His journey towards embracing the significance of the Second Amendment is deeply personal."
"'Triggered' is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting and impactful partnership between Baste Records and Hi-Rez," Baste Records continued. "We are dedicated to providing a platform for artists to express themselves freely and raise awareness about critical issues, even when these issues are controversial."

Hi-Rez commented on the upcoming release with Baste Rec0rds.
"After losing my cousin in the Parkland school shooting and researching mass genocides carried out by tyrannical governments, I realized how vital it is to preserve our Second Amendment rights," he wrote. "I am excited to be teaming up with Baste Records to release this edgy, taboo song because most traditional distributors and labels wouldn't touch this with a 10-foot pole."
Earlier this month, Baste Records released their debut single "Ain't No Rock And Roll" with singer and songwriter Brad Skistimas, who performs under the stage name Five Times August.
The track features a super-group ensemble of fellow artists including former drummer for The Offspring Pete Parada. Ira Dean, who has previously worked with Staind lead singer and country artist Aaron Lewis, plays bass guitar on the new track accompanied by former Tom Petty and Joe Walsh guitarist Tom Bukovac and former member of Bob Seger’s band Jim “Moose” Brown playing keys.
The music video features images of legacy rock stars including Gene Simmons of KISS, Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones, and Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters among others. The images of legacy acts are accompanied by previous headlines and quotes from the performers as they threw support behind government mandates, performed shows exclusively for the vaccinated, and shunned fans who questioned government mandates.
Baste Records brands itself as the “counter culture to cancel culture” and the alternative to “mainstream music industry [which] is often dominated by liberal or progressive values.”
“It has become uncommon for Artists these days to actually be authentic to what they believe through their music," songwriter and Baste Records head of A&R Chris Wallin told Timcast News. “I feel truly fortunate to be a part of a creative movement and people who are no longer afraid to put out music that reflects their beliefs as people and their artistry."
Baste Records is a “platform for conservative musicians and artists to reach a wider audience and share their beliefs and values through their music,” according to their website.
