Ava Kris Tyson Splits From Mr. Beast After Allegations Of Grooming A Minor Emerge

Ava Kris Tyson has announced a "permanent" departure from Mr. Beast and his YouTube team after facing allegations of grooming a minor.

Tyson, born Kris, has been involved with Mr. Beast, born James Stephen Donaldson, since the early years of Donaldson's YouTube career. Mr. Beast currently boasts over 305 million subscribers with over 55 billion total views.

In July 2023, Tyson adopted the name "Ava" and came out as transgender after undergoing six months of hormone therapy. After his friend faced initial backlash for adopting a transgender identity, Donaldson threw support behind Tyson saying, "All this transphobia is starting to piss me off."

Allegations against Tyson surfaced by YouTuber Prism42 in the last month, though came to a head on Monday after DramaAlert shared an X thread documenting the claims. In the month since allegations were originally made on Prism42's YouTube channel, Tyson scrubbed their social media.

According to claims against Tyson, the fellow Mr. Beast star developed a sexually inappropriate relationship with a 13-year-old minor, later meeting with that minor when they were 16.

Tyson also joked about selling nude pictures to the minor, according to X posts, then-Twitter, dating back to 2018.

Overnight, more allegations of inappropriate conversation between Tyson and the minor made on Snapchat in 2019 emerged featuring a heart and kissing emojis sent from the Mr. Beast star.

Former employees of Mr. Beast have alleged that Donaldson was aware of Tyson's behavior at the time.

DramaAlert owner and fellow YouTuber Keemstar, born Daniel Keem, said Donaldson had connected him with the alleged minor, who uses the handle "Lava" online.

Lava claimed he was not groomed by Tyson, adding he met with Tyson while accompanied by his family and fellow Mr. Beast crew.

"I ran a discord with Kris Tyson when I was 13 and edgy inappropriate jokes were said that’s it," Lava said, per Keemstar.

Keemstar later alleged Tyson had expressed support for controversial artist Shadman, who has produced sexually suggestive cartoons featuring children. Shadman previously drew the DramaAlert owner's daughter at age eight in a sexual manner, Keemstar claimed.

"Privately me and Kris Tyson even had a conversation about this roughly a month ago," Keemstar wrote. "As it still upsets me, this is not misinformation. This is fact."

Keemstar then shared a screenshot of a now-deleted post by Tyson appearing to say he enjoyed "Loli" content, which is a term used to describe sexually suggestive cartoons of children.

On Tuesday afternoon, Tyson announced his "permanent" departure from Mr. Beast.

"I would like to apologize for any of my past behavior or comments if it hurt or offended anyone. It was not my intent," Tyson wrote. "Seeing recent events we’ve mutually decided it’s best I permanently step away from all things MrBeast and social media to focus on my family and mental health."

Keemstar responded to Tyson's announcement referencing his previous support of Shadman's art.

"You didn't apologize to me a month ago in private when I brought up your behavior supporting the cartoon CP artist that drew my 8-year-old daughter in a sexual way?" Keemstar wrote. "What changed?"

Although Keemstar has taken personal issue with Tyson, the DramaAlert creator has said he believes Donaldson is a good person.

"I hate to put pressure on him like this, but he has to say something," Keemstar wrote. "You can’t go around, trying to save the world when you have someone so close, doing things this disgusting."
