Anti-War Organization Protests Outside Nancy Pelosi's San Francisco Home

Code Pink, an anti-war organization founded during the lead-up to the invasion of Iraq in 2002, protested outside the San Francisco home of Nancy Pelosi on Sunday.

The group was calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war.

Code Pink said that it is "crucial" for Pelosi and President Joe Biden to support a cease-fire “to heed the voices of her constituents and stand in solidarity with her colleagues advocating for peace.”

“Our government must not be complicit in genocide and other war crimes. Congress enabling huge profits for the U.S. war industry is wrong. There is no military solution to this conflict. The U.S. should support diplomacy, not revenge,” Code Pink's Cynthia Papermaster said in a statement.

The press release said that thousands had protested in support of a ceasefire in San Francisco and that Pelosi should represent the will of her constituents.

In a post to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, Code Pink urged people to "Join us at Pelosi’s to demand that she & Biden support an immediate permanent ceasefire, stop supplying more $ for the Gaza genocide, & halt settler violence & military incursions in the West Bank."

The organization added, "No more $ for Israel's war on Gaza."

Videos of the protest appear to show dozens of people, most of whom were older, protesting outside of the home.

Code Pink also protested outside Pelosi's home for several days in early November, even laying behind her vehicle when she tried to leave.

In response, Pelosi implied that they are supporters of China.

Members of the organization, including cofounder Medea Benjamin, also repeatedly disrupted Secretary of State Antony Blinken's testimony to a Senate hearing on aid to Israel in October.

Code Pink has protested US wars and involvement in foreign conflicts under former President's George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and now Joe Biden.
