Children's Mercy Hospital has confirmed 11 children are being treated for injuries at today's Kansas City Chiefs parade in celebration of the team's Super Bowl win on Sunday.
The shooting took place toward the end of the parade at Union Station.
Nine of the children have sustained gunshot wounds, according to the hospital.
Stephanie Meyer, the senior vice president and chief nursing officer for the hospital, reportedly said all 11 children are expected to recover. One person is in critical condition from a gunshot wound at St. Luke's Hospital of Kansas City, along with three others with non-life-threatening injuries, according to spokesperson Laurel Gifford.
University Health Truman Medical Center is reportedly treating eight people who suffered gunshot wounds, two of which are in critical condition, along with four others treated for other injuries.

Three armed suspects were taken into custody for investigation, according to the Kansas City Police Department.
Fans in attendance reportedly apprehended one of the shooters prior to the arrival of law enforcement.
"Amid the terror, a heroic group of men were seen taking down one of the suspected perpetrators," Daily Mail reports. "They hauled the alleged gunman to the ground and then shouted 'we got the gun.' The men held down the suspect until cops arrived to detain him." "We are truly saddened by the senseless act of violence that occurred outside of Union Station at the conclusion of today's parade and rally," wrote the team. "Our hearts go out to the victims, their families and all of Kansas City."
The team said they are in close contact with Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas along with the city's police department. The Kansas City Chiefs also confirmed their players, coaches, staff, and families were unharmed and accounted for.
"We thank the local law enforcement officers and first responders who were on-scene to assist," they added.
