An outage at Apple Computers shutdown key web services Monday including text messaging, Maps, Apple Music, Apple TV, and other platforms.
The company confirmed the outage after users were unable to stream music, purchase items from the app store, or send and receive emails.
“In addition to Apple’s online services — Music, Maps, Podcasts and more facing outages — I’m told Apple’s corporate and retail internal systems are down too, limiting remote work and retail operations like product pick-ups and repairs,” wrote a reporter for Bloomberg.
“Apple Inc. suffered a widespread outage on Monday, knocking services such as Apple Music, iCloud and the App Store offline for some users and briefly hobbling its internal corporate and retail systems,” writes the financial news outlet.
According to Apple, the outage is causing problems for 15 different services, including the ability for customers to purchase products at retail locations across North America.
