UFC Fighter Claims Family Members Were Abducted By UFO

Mixed Martial Artist Angela Hill has a deeply personal reason for her interest in UFOs — her grandparents were allegedly abducted by aliens.

During a recent interview with BBC Sport, Hill said that in 1961 her grandparents, Barney and Betty, were abducted by aliens while traveling back to their home in Portsmouth, New Hampshire after a vacation in Niagara Falls.

“It has always been a part of our family history,” she said. “It has always been a fact to us. We know something happened, even if it isn't exactly what has been put out there."

Barney and Betty claimed they saw an unusual spacecraft while driving, and then were unable to account for roughly three hours.

The abduction story was so compelling it was adapted into a best-selling book, The Interrupted Journey, as well as a 1975 TV movie titled The UFO Incident.

Hill said, “It was one of those things I always knew about, and I didn't think it was weird until I mentioned it to a friend and then they would look it up."

Part of what sparked interest in the story was that the pair were an interracial couple. Barney passed away seven years after the night of the abduction. Betty lived until 2004.

"One of the most interesting parts of it is that it's a black guy getting abducted by aliens. The Nope movie [directed by Jordan Peele] is pretty much my grandfather,” Hill said.

"The more we see stuff like Nope and things where black characters are involved in these extra-terrestrial things, then the more people are going to look at this story and think, 'Oh yeah, this actually happened,’” she said. “You always see the typical guy in a trailer park and you don't think it can happen to someone who is not like that. It's kind of a cool thing to be able to see on TV and relate to. I think a lot of us are looking for answers out in the stars."

Hill’s account comes after recent months of renewed global interest in UFOs, particularly in America where military whistleblowers have come forward stating the U.S. government is in possession of at least one functional UFO that is able to distort space and time.
