Two Dead After Shooting at Trump Rally

An ER doctor attending the event rushed to the aid of a crowd member who was hit by a bullet

Two Dead After Shooting at Trump Rally

At least two people died as the result of a shooting at a rally for former President Donald Trump.

The rally in Bulter, Pennsylvania –  30 miles north of Pittsburgh – descended into panic after shots were heard while the presumptive Republican presidential nominee addressed the crowd. A law enforcement sniper was captured on film taking the stage as the Secret Service prepared to remove Trump.

Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger said two people are dead – a rally attendee and the apparent shooter, per The Washington Post.

Reporters and Trump supporters took to X to share details of their experience.

At the Trump rally.  Assassination attempt with several shots fired. Guy in the bleachers next to me hit in the head and killed. Trump hit,” wrote one user at 6:53 PM. He included a picture of blood-stained bleachers.

CBS News reporter Jake Rosen shared a video of an emergency room doctor – dressed in a red ‘Make America Great Again’ hat and a bloodstained white T-shirt with the phrase ‘USA’ – who rushed to assist the man who had been hit.

“I heard the shot. … I made my way over and said ‘I’m an emergency department physician. Let me help you,’” the man says in the clip. “The guy had spun around and was jammed between the benches.”

“He has a headshot here,” said the doctor, pointing above his left ear. “There was lots of blood and he had brain matter. … The people there were very helpful.”

The shooting is being investigated as an attempted assassination. In addition to the Secret Service, the ATF and FBI are taking part in the investigation. Two anonymous sources told AP News that the shooter was not a rally attendee and was killed by Secret Service agents.
