Family of Man Murdered In Failed Trump Assassination Attempt Speaks Out

An assassination attempt on former President Donald J. Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, yesterday left one attendee dead and two others injured.

A hail of bullets struck Trump and the victims, tragically cutting short the life of Corey Comperatore, a resident of Sarver, Pennsylvania, who had recently celebrated his 50th birthday.

Comperatore was a devout Christian who served as the former fire chief for Buffalo Township.

The morning after the tragic event, several members of Comperatore’s family released statements honoring his memory.

According to his daughter, Allyson Comperatore, after the first shot was fired, he quickly threw his wife and daughter to the ground and heroically used his own body to shield them from the other bullets.

“The media will not tell you that he died a real-life super hero,” his daughter said in a statement posted to social media.

“He loved his family. He truly loved us enough to take a real bullet for us. And I want nothing more than to cry on him and tell him thank you. I want nothing more than to wake up and for this to not be reality for me and my family,” she added.

“We lost a selfless loving, husband, father, brother, uncle, son, and friend. And I will never stop thinking about him and mourning over him until the day that I die too. July 14th will forever be a day [that] changed my life. I will never be the same person I was less than 24 hours ago,” she wrote.

“I know that God is proud of the man that came to His gates yesterday,” she said, ending the post.

Comperatore’s sister, Dawn Comperatore, also issued a statement mourning the loss of her brother.

“The PA Trump Rally claimed the life of my brother, Corey Comperatore. The hatred for one man took the life of the one man we loved the most,” she wrote in a Facebook post about Comperatore, who worked as a project and tooling engineer for 29 years.

She continued:

He was a hero that shielded his daughters. His wife and girls just lived through the unthinkable and unimaginable. My baby brother just turned 50 and had so much life left to experience. Hatred has no limits and love has no bounds. Pray for my sister-in-law, nieces, my mother, sister, me and his nieces and nephews as this feels like a terrible nightmare but we know it is our painful reality.
