Rapper Cardi B will not support President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign because of his administration's support for foreign wars.
The performer denounced the Democrat during a live stream on her Instagram, contrasting the financial needs of New York City to the amount of money the federal government has spent in Ukraine and Israel.
“I’m an angry a-- b---- right now,” said Cardi B. “I need y’all spread this video… and if something happens to me – it is because I’m speaking truth.”
“In New York, there is a $120 million budget cut. There is a $120 million budget cut in New York that is going to affect schools, public libraries and the police department,” said New York native, alluding to the 5% cut in the city’s municipal budget. “Y’all know I don’t give a f--- about the cops but it is what it is.”
“There is going to be a $120 million budget cut with schools, with libraries and the cops and the police department,” she continued. “And a $5 million budget cut in sanitation … B----, we are gonna be drowning with rats. We’re going to be drowning in f---ing rats.”
She went on:Mind you – this is why I said I’m not… I’m not endorsing no f---ing presidents no more. Because how is there a $100 million budget in New York City for f---ing schools, libraries, police safety, and sanitation yet Joe Biden is talking about like "Yeah, we can fund two wars." Motherf---er is talking about like we don’t got it but we got it – like we’re the greatest nation. Like no the f--- we’re not. We’re going through some s--- right now. Like, say it! Say it! Like we really, really, really, really, really, really… are f---ed right now.
Cardi B interviewed President Joe Biden in August of 2020 for Elle Magazine. The two discussed racial tensions in America as well as other issues she felt were important in the lead-up to the presidential election.
“I want Black people to stop getting killed and no justice for it. I’m tired of it. I’m sick of it,” Cardi B told the Democratic candidate when he asked about her interest in the election, per CNN. “I have a whole list of things that I want our next president to do for us. But first, I just want Trump out.”
Biden has maintained low approval ratings for most of his presidency. His support among Democrats fell by 11 points between September and October, according to Gallup. The downturn coincides with the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks on Israel.
